- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add diced onions to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add broccoli florets to the pan. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
- If the pan is dry, add a splash of water. Cover with a lid and steam for 4-5 minutes until broccoli is tender-crisp.
- Remove lid and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the mixture.
- Cover again for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
- Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
For best melting results, shred your own block cheese rather than using pre-shredded bags.
