- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange frozen hash brown patties on the sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until deeply golden and crispy.
- While potatoes bake, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain, cool, and crumble.
- Remove crispy hash browns from the oven and top each evenly with grated cheddar cheese.
- Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes just until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
- Remove from oven and immediately press the crumbled bacon into the melted cheese.
- Transfer to a serving plate, top with a drizzle or dollop of sour cream, and garnish generously with fresh chives. Serve immediately.
Notes
For an air fryer, cook patties at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway. Add cheese and cook for 1 more minute to melt.
