Ingredients
  

Hash Browns
  • 4 patties frozen hash brown patties do not thaw
Toppings
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese freshly grated
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 0.25 cup sour cream full fat preferred
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives finely chopped

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or Air Fryer
  • Skillet
  • Cheese grater

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange frozen hash brown patties on the sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until deeply golden and crispy.
  3. While potatoes bake, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain, cool, and crumble.
  4. Remove crispy hash browns from the oven and top each evenly with grated cheddar cheese.
  5. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes just until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately press the crumbled bacon into the melted cheese.
  7. Transfer to a serving plate, top with a drizzle or dollop of sour cream, and garnish generously with fresh chives. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an air fryer, cook patties at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway. Add cheese and cook for 1 more minute to melt.
